What happened?

On 15 July 2026 at 19:37, the Dutch Lifeguard Brigade (Reddingsbrigade) was alerted to a 112 emergency in Bergen Aan Zee. The brigade responds to incidents on beaches, along the coast and on inland waters. Volunteers handle rescues, missing-person searches and first aid, often working together with the KNRM, ambulance service and police.
