On 2 February 2024 at 03:21, the fire brigade responded to a 112 emergency call in Hoogvliet Rotterdam, on Digna Johannaweg. The fire service is not only called out for fires, but also for traffic accidents, technical rescues, hazardous-materials incidents and water emergencies. Their deployment is coordinated by the fire brigade dispatch centre.
