What happened?

On 16 December 2024 at 07:20, the Dutch Lifeguard Brigade (Reddingsbrigade) was alerted to a 112 emergency in Castricum. The brigade responds to incidents on beaches, along the coast and on inland waters. Volunteers handle rescues, missing-person searches and first aid, often working together with the KNRM, ambulance service and police.
