On 26 May 2024 at 00:54, the fire brigade responded to a 112 emergency call in Castricum, on Admiraal De Ruyterlaan. The fire service is not only called out for fires, but also for traffic accidents, technical rescues, hazardous-materials incidents and water emergencies.
