What happened?

On 7 September 2025 at 17:30, the Dutch Lifeguard Brigade (Reddingsbrigade) was alerted to a 112 emergency in Heemskerk, on Zwarteweg. The brigade responds to incidents on beaches, along the coast and on inland waters. Volunteers handle rescues, missing-person searches and first aid, often working together with the KNRM, ambulance service and police.
