What happened?

On 14 August 2026 at 16:41, the Dutch Lifeguard Brigade (Reddingsbrigade) was alerted to a 112 emergency in Egmond Aan Zee, on Boulevard Zuid. The brigade responds to incidents on beaches, along the coast and on inland waters. Volunteers handle rescues, missing-person searches and first aid, often working together with the KNRM, ambulance service and police.
