On 6 January 2024 at 14:15, the fire brigade responded to a 112 emergency call in Geffen, on Kapelstraat. The fire service is not only called out for fires, but also for traffic accidents, technical rescues, hazardous-materials incidents and water emergencies. Their deployment is coordinated by the fire brigade dispatch centre.
