What happened?

On 8 June 2026 at 20:01, the fire brigade responded to a 112 emergency call in Maastricht, on Onze Lieve Vrouweplein. The fire service is not only called out for fires, but also for traffic accidents, technical rescues, hazardous-materials incidents and water emergencies. Their deployment is coordinated by the fire brigade dispatch centre.
